【摘要】:ThispartofBS8723givesrecommendationsforstructuredvocabularies,whentwoormoreofthemarerequiredtointeroperateforthepurposesofinformationretrieval.Sinceanyoneconceptistypicallyrepresentedbydifferenttermsornotationsindifferentvocabularies,theemphasisisonestablishingequivalencesorotherrelationshipsbetweenthevariousrepresentationsofeachconcept.Thecaseofamultilingualthesaurus,althoughinonesensethisisasinglevocabulary,isincludedwithinthescopeasaspecialcaseofinteroperabilitybetweenvocabulariesindifferentlanguages.Therearenocomparableprovisionsformultilingualclassificationschemes,sincetheirnotationappliesequallyacrossalllanguagesandtheneedforequivalencerelationshipsbetweentermsdoesnotarise.ThispartofBS8723providesrecommendationsonthewayrelationshipsmaybeestablishedacrossvocabularies,betweenthetermsandotherelementsofthosevocabularies,sothatinformationmayberetrievedfromresourcesindexedwiththedifferentvocabularies.Italsogivesrecommendationsformanagingandmaintainingdataaboutthetermsandrelationships.
